Fairfax journalists ask for a fair fight

Change is afoot in Australia’s media enviroment. With more and more people getting their news from online services, Australia’s newspapers are feeling the pinch.

This week Fairfax announced it would shed 1,900 jobs over three years, close two printing plants. News Ltd has also announced sweeping changes, including reducing the number of devisions from 19 to five.

To discuss these changes and the future of newspapers we were joined by Louise Connor, Secretary of the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA) Victorian Branch.
