Change is afoot in Australia’s media enviroment. With more and more people getting their news from online services, Australia’s newspapers are feeling the pinch.
This week Fairfax announced it would shed 1,900 jobs over three years, close two printing plants. News Ltd has also announced sweeping changes, including reducing the number of devisions from 19 to five.
To discuss these changes and the future of newspapers we were joined by Louise Connor, Secretary of the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA) Victorian Branch.
Your Rights at Night is Adelaide’s only union radio show, brought to you by SA Unions. Each week our dynamic team of presenters pack the one hour program with information about your rights at work, and other social issues.
It’s all about you – your right to fair pay, to fair conditions, to a safe work place, and to fair compensation if you are injured at work.
Smart and sassy, it’s activist media at its best – definitely worth listening to!
Tune in Thursday nights @ 6.00 pm on Radio Adelaide – on digital, on-line & 101.5 FM
