Workplace Bullying – what can you do?

One in three young people have been bullied or witnessed bullying at work – that’s the latest research – and it’s very disturbing.

In May this year Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced an enquiry by the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Education and Employment to look at what can be done to improve the situation and stamp out the scourge of workplace bullying.

This week the enquiry visited Adelaide and heard submissions from unions, workers, psychologists, employers and from Safework SA.

Your Rights at Night spoke to a panel of experts who made submissions to the enquiry, including:

  • Amanda Rishworth – Inquiry Chair, South Australia’s federal member for Kingston,
  • Anne Purdy  – Co-ordinator of the Young Workers Legal Service
  • Marie Boland  -  Director, Policy and Strategy Group, SafeWork SA
  • Moira Jenkins  –  founder and Professional Director of South Australian based Aboto.
